The Bohol Skills Registry System (BSRS) is a pioneering program that will serve as an online avenue for workers and employers in Bohol to easily find each other. The Provincial Government of Bohol intends for BSRS to cater to the rest of the municipalities in the province with the PaDaYon experience serving as a model. It will serve as a platform for local businesses and investors in the tourism sector to access information on the supply of available skilled workers from the municipalities of Panglao, Dauis, and Baclayon (PaDaYon). The Bohol Employment and Placement Office (BEPO) and the three (3) PaDaYon municipalities initiated this innovative project not only to serve as an efficient source of information for potential employers but also as a resource for them to monitor and plan support programs for workers in their respective communities. Bohol Information Communication and Technology Unit (BICTU) developed the system with the support of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) through LGSP-LED, which receives financial assistance from the Government of Canada. BSRS portal will be hosted on the official website of the Bohol Provincial Government (www.bohol.gov.ph) and will be maintained by BICTU.
BSRS Features and Contents
BSRS will provide information on the supply as well as demand for skilled human resources in Bohol. BSRS will contain the profiles of skilled tourism workers in PaDaYon. The municipal Public Employment Service Offices (PESOs), through a household survey based on the National Skills Registry System (NSRS), collects data on these workers. Workers may also register online at www.jobs.bohol.gov.ph or through job fairs and caravans, which the Provincial Government of Bohol organizes regularly. BSRS will also allow tourism establishments and private sector partners to post job vacancies through the PESO of respective LGUs and BEPO. Links of job vacancies from accredited establishments and recruitment agencies will also be made available through the platform.
Security and Data Integrity
The system ensures the privacy of workers. Worker profiles will be viewable online; however, requests on contact details of individual workers will be directed to the municipal PESO or BEPO. BICTU is also responsible for ensuring secured access to the portal by monitoring the users (PESO and BEPO staff) in uploading, editing, and deleting information of skilled workers and potential employers.
